Card 01 Current Read
Alas, Babylon
A Cold War classic about a small Florida town rebuilding after nuclear war — unnervingly relevant, and a hometown-adjacent pick for a club rooted in Central Florida.

Every club has it's favorite movie, and the WP Book Club is no exception. Movie night is ALWAYS the 1995 Mortal Kombat. No exception, no rotation, and also, we never actually watch it. Thanks entirely to Walter.
Card 02 Discuss the Book
Halfway Discussion
Made it halfway? Head to the thread and talk it through. Use Discord's spoiler tags (type ||like this||) for anything past where others might be, and mention your chapter so folks know where you stand.
Finished-the-Book Discussion
All bets are off here — assume everyone's finished. Still, if you want to reference a specific moment, naming the chapter helps others follow along.

Card 07 About the Club
Founded in 2009 in Winter Park, Florida, this club started the way most good ones do — in wine rooms and living rooms, with too much talk about the book and not enough about the wine (or the reverse, depending who you ask). One especially memorable host's basement earned the permanent nickname the Thunderdome, and the name stuck long after we stopped meeting there.
Members have since scattered across the country and the world, so these days we meet virtually over Discord — same arguments about endings, same running jokes, just more time zones to coordinate.
Card 08 Support the Club
This site runs on hosting and a domain name, not on nothing. If you'd like to help keep the lights on, any amount is appreciated — no pressure, no obligation.
